The Three Hills Summer Celebration Parade is a festive display of community spirit hosted every July by the Three Hills Chamber. Colourful themed floats parade their way up Main Street past sidewalks crowded with spectators to Anderson Park, then further on to Golden Hills Lodge: community groups and businesses, area fire departments and emergency responders, bicycle riders, marching bands, clowns, buskers, horses and riders, agricultural equipment and much more – plus lots of safe (but not peanut-free) candy! See the Community Calendar for details about this year’s parade.

It’s not easy being in business, but the Three Hills Chamber believes that a prosperous business sector is essential to a thriving community. Every year in October the Chamber brings together business people in Three Hills to celebrate their entrepreneurial spirit, professionalism and dedication to private enterprise. Activities change from year to year: an evening dinner with special guest speaker; publicly recognizing the accomplishments of local businesses through awards in different categories of achievement; workshops or seminars on matters of topical interest or professional development; relaxed social and networking occasions. See the Community Calendar for details about this year’s Small Business Week.

Join us for the Three Hills Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament in September, a Chamber tradition for many years, hosted on the lovely fairways and greens of the Three Hills Golf Club course – one of the very best in central Alberta. After a pleasant and rewarding nine holes of golf, players retire to the clubhouse for a mouth-watering steak BBQ dinner with plenty of sides and trimmings. Some fun and some competitive awards are presented at the dinner – and no one walks away empty-handed from the draw for sponsors’ door prizes. This is a great chance to relax with friends and business associates and the tournament fills up fast, so pre-registration is a must. See the Community Calendar for details about this year’s golf tournament.

Just in time for Christmas shopping, retailers in Three Hills stay open late one Friday night in early December and roll out their best prices on regular stock and special seasonal items for the throngs of people that stroll the packed downtown sidewalks. Many stores have hourly specials, free giveaways and draws for exciting gifts. Lineups at the tills are cheerful social occasions. The Moonlight Madness shopping extravaganza is a highlight of the season and it comes wrapped in colourful and festive activities: lighting Alberta’s tallest Christmas tree, Christmas lights on Main Street, rides with Santa on the Three Hills Fire Truck, horse-drawn sleigh rides, Christmas carollers, unique visiting vendors, fire pits for keeping warm, smokies and hot dogs and hot chocolate and much more. The annual presentation of The Bethlehem Walk and a Community Christmas Carol performance from local musical artists round out a delightful, entertaining evening that’s fun for the whole family. See the Community Calendar for details about this year’s Moonlight Madness.

Join an extraordinary collection of goblins, ghouls, dedicated volunteers and participating businesses for a monster amount of supernatural fun! Some years the Chamber hosts an awesome kid-dedicated party in a spookily decorated Community Centre with refreshments, magical entertainment, and super-fun games and activities. Other years it may be a Trick or Treat Street event for school kids on the afternoon of Halloween Eve, with Main Street businesses welcoming school age trick-or-treaters. Watch the Community Calendar to see what’s happening for this year’s Halloween event.
